MyHome is a new service addition to the Latlong product that lets you add your home on to the latlong product in 3 simple steps. Once you are done, you could share this code with friends that would tell them the exact location of your house through SMS.
The three simple steps are:

1. Choose your Locality.
2. Choose a landmark.
3. Tell Latlong how to reach this point.

And you are done. Latlong will send you a code and your friends can send this code to Latlong and receive directions to your place.

The code in this case would be @yourmobile number.

Just to show you how it works, here is what I did to get short code for my home.

1. SMS myhome to 9008890088 (Latlong's service number)

2. Latlong will ask you to mention a landmark near the place. So I sent MYHOME "Landmark"

3. The next step would be to add directions from the Landmark to your place and you are done.

So I got my short code, which is @9198867XX3XX

So assuming you are near the Forum Mall and want to get to my place, all you have to do is do is send “Forum Mall to @9198867XX3XX to 9008890088” and you would get the exact directions to my place.

A very nice addition to the Latlong product and you could get turn-by-turn directions to your exact address. So you don’t need Maps or a GPRS enabled phone to get directions to a location.

The practicality of this service would come into light, in cases like when you have to guide someone to a marriage hall, a party thats happening etc. The possibilities are limitless.
