Once you are done registering with Pixel Pipe, you get to create something called as pipes. Pipes are destinations on the Social Media scence where you can get your media off of your desktop and mobile and online with Pixelpipe’s free software.
Pixel Pipe offers three ways in which you can get data off to the Web.
1. Mobile.
2. IM (Instant Messaging Bots for AIM, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN, Yahoo Messenger).
3. Windows, Mac and Linux Desktops.
Pixelpipe lets you overrride your default destinations by using routing tags such as @twitter, @facebook, @blogger, @friends to send content to specific destinations or groups. Pixelpipe stands out from other services by the sheer number of services that you can push your content into. As of now Pixelpipe claims to support more than 75 services.
The mobile posting support provided by Pixelpipe is also mentionable. It provides support for three major platforms i.e Nokia, iPhone and the Google Android platform.
Apart from this is, for developers, Pixelpipe offers a service called “The Pixelpipeline“, which are a set of APIs supported by Pixelpipe. These APIs can be used in receiving uploads from client applications.
I have been using it mainly to update Twitter and Facebook status messages. Summing it all up Pixelpipe is an application that you should give a try.
